Z is an animal lover. He loves farm animals, and zoo animals, and especially WILD ANIMALS! But he's an equal opportunity lover. If you're an animal, he will mimic you, and shower you with affection. It's an interesting relationship, that's for sure.

Cannonball!
It's a lot of running around, and a good deal of back and forth, just keeping up with this kid. I'm glad he occasionally thinks sitting down is acceptable!
He's just so interested in everything. He wants to run over and see it, touch it, taste it, feel it. Moving parts are extended to (and usually past) their limits, and every button must be pushed. Sometimes he tries to push my buttons--but usually I'm just in awe of his limitless energy and enthusiasm. And trying my best to keep up!

A Man and his Horse
Alternate Titles:
A Daddy and his Z
A Boy and his Letters
A Momma and her Camera
Yes, I take hundreds of pictures, every where we go. Honestly, it's why I'm a month behind in the blog! For every day trip we take, I usually have at least 2 or 3 posts to make! I should probably do a better job of posting multiple posts a day, but finding the time to get even one blog post done can be a challenge. Especially with the traveling we do. (Sorry for the gap this last week--as you'll see when we catch up in blog world, Z and I are visiting family in Iowa right now!) In these pictures, Daddy is doing a wonderful job of bringing Gettysburg to a level Zachary could relate to. Showing him the horses, and the big wheels on the cannons, and all of the letters on the memorials. Z couldn't get enough of it!
Gettysburg for your Birthday
Probably not the party most 2 year olds are expecting for their birthday. But we'd been wanting to visit Gettysburg for a while now, and thought we could fit it in while Nonna and Poppa were visiting. Z's always up for a ride in the car, and a walk outside. So although it wasn't a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, I know he enjoyed his (somewhat unconventional) birthday trip. It's fitting though--Z isn't your conventional 2 year old!!
Catching Up
There are some videos that I have been meaning to share, but keep forgetting about. There are some oldies--but I think they're worth having up here for posterity.
I'll be posting the videos over the next couple of days.

Trailing Behind
With a long car ride ahead of us, a good long walk was in order. Zachary ran up hill almost the entire walk. Good thing Poppa didn't mind giving him a lift! And as for the post title--it was me that was trailing behind!!

Hide and Go Peek
We were all getting ready for our tour of Gettysburg, but first we needed to burn off some excess Z-energy. What better way to do that then a game of Get You with Nonna!

birthday donuts!
Nothing wrong with starting off your birthday with a breakfast of donuts frosted with strawberry frosting and sprinkles. Happy Birthday Zachary! You're an adorable 2 year old little boy, and I love you to pieces!! I must love you a lot, because that was supposed to be my donut!

Sleep like a Baby
I wish it were this easy to put Zachary to sleep. Just flop him over on his side, and listen to the blissful snoring....

tagged and bagged
Thanks to Zachary's second birthday, Z's toy box is overflowing! But he had so much fun opening presents, especially the animals Nonna got him. With each animal he pulled out of the bag, we were treated to a proclamation of the name and noise of each one. ROAR!

Take a Breather
Maybe it was just an excuse to take a break after our long walk, but these pictures of Nonna, Poppa, and Z turned out great. You'd have no idea from the pictures that when Nonna moved down from the first stair, to sit closer to Z, she got a little too close. Z looks up at her, and says, "ZahZah, feewee stu!!" (Translation: Zachary's finger is stuck!)
