Siren Call

I can't believe we now live just a few minutes from the beach! I was able to drive over there and peek at the beach in March, but bed rest has meant I haven't been able to go while the weather is nice enough to really enjoy the trip. Good thing Grandma, Grandma Ann, Auntie Kitty and Big Daddy Paul were up for the trip with Z! I sent my camera in my place, and you can tell they had fun. Zachary got pretty wet (and VERY sandy) and had to borrow Big Daddy Paul's shirt for the ride home. I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of time at Esker Point, enjoying the sand and the water...we'll just have to make sure we have a change of clothes packed for the munchkins!

Bubbly Personality

What is Z going to do when Auntie Kitty has to go home? We have been so spoiled all summer!

Aunties Invasion

My life on the couch is drastically improved by fun company coming to visit. (It doesn't hurt that they brought dinner!) Auntie Ginnie's rice was just what this pregnant lady needed! We were happy to show off the new house to everyone, and let Zachary run around with Auntie Millie, Auntie Terri, Auntie Ginnie, and of course Grandma Ann!

Partners in Play

Z was only too happy to have Grandma at his beck and call for 2.5 weeks. His toys were picked up, his milk was full and he had a more than willing partner for reading books, and playing games on the tablet. Who wouldn't love that?

Oh the Places You'll...Get Stuck In?

Grandma to the rescue! At least that was how the day started...

Grandma came out to visit our new digs in Mystic, and to help Catherine take care of Z while I'm out of commission. I know I loved coming down to a fresh pot of coffee and an a clean sink every morning! But we all know the real reason Grandma came out here...to play with Zachary! She must have really been taking her mission seriously when she took Z up on his challenge to play with him in the tunnel. Both Z and Auntie Kitty had to assist in her extrication!

The Expressionists Movement

This all started when Zachary wanted to show me his mad face. But he was cracking up so much at my reaction (hysterical laughter) that he couldn't keep a serious face for long!

The Pepere Plop (a Hop on Pop variety!)

For Father's Day this year, Pepere came down for a visit, and brought food for us to grill up and enjoy. Thanks to bed rest, I couldn't quite pamper the dads the way I normally would. I'll have to make it up to everyone next year, but I think we made the best of things this year, and had a great time.

Happy Father's Day!!

My First Baby

Hard to imagine that pretty soon here, Z is no longer going to be my only baby. I like to think he's enjoyed being an only child for almost 3 years, and I know I've enjoyed being his momma! Z has been a wonderful first baby, introducing me to the awe inspiring role of momma. I am madly in love with him, and have enjoyed every minute of my time with him. He makes me laugh, and makes me so proud. I can't believe how amazing this little person is. I'm looking forward to watching Elara go through the same transition from little tiny, dependent newborn, to a toddler with her own character and personality. I hope she's as brilliant, funny, loving and awesome as her big brother Zachary!

Adding another little one to the family is probably going to be a tough transition, for all of us. I'm used to being able to focus on Z, and he's used to being the center of attention. He seems excited about the idea of Elara, although I'm sure that is mostly because she's just a growing belly to him right now, and not a crying baby stealing momma away.

He loves to kiss my belly, and he talks about how he's going to play with Elara when she's "all done growing big in my belly."  He also says that when she cries, Big Daddy Paul will get her a bottle. Guess he doesn't know I'm planning on breastfeeding!

I'm hoping we can get through the worst of the jealousy without too much drama, but he's 2, and I'll be hormonal (and sleep deprived!), so nobody hold your breath!

The dynamic will be changing around here. My "big, big, big, big, giant belly" is evidence of that! Wish our new family of four luck!

Land O Plenty

Yeah, I know. I should be sitting in a lawn chair, or playing my part as Queen Momma of the couch, but I couldn't resist the sunshine and the bubbles and the giggles, or the chance to have Auntie Kitty snap a couple pictures of the 3 of us. This might be one of the last pictures of our little family of 3, before we become a family of four!

Besides, you know you all wanted a glimpse of my ever-growing belly. There's certainly no missing it!
