Fourth of July: The Boys

Fourth of July at Auntie Terri's and Uncle Gary's is always a blast. This year seemed like even more fun! So much fun, I had to make it into multiple posts.

Fork it Over

We were more than happy to help celebrate Auntie Eva's Surprise 90th Birthday Party. It's always fun to have an excuse to dress up, eat good food, and party with the family! Zachary was thrilled to put on his shiny black dance shoes!
Then there is Elara, who would much prefer that you let her drink out of a regular cup. NO lids or straws thank you. And what kind of neanderthal uses their fingers to eat? She'll take a fork and spoon, thank you very much.

The Benefits of Flossing

It was well past time for Zachary to try corn on the cob for the first time, and he loved it! He's been eating it cut off the cob for years, but there is some novelty in eating it this way, and he really had fun. Sorry Elara, you don't quite have enough teeth yet!

miss piggies

Hair. Elara has a lot of it. So much so that I have to do something to keep it out of her eyes. Pin it up, clip it back, or my favorite, pigtails! She's not much for headbands, unless I put it on and then distract her, and even then, it eventually gets pulled out. But then she tries to put it back on herself. She's just not very good at it yet..

Benched for the Season

Sometimes when we're out for our walks, it's nice to stop by the park, and let the littles run around and burn off some energy. Some of the littles are a little too little to run around much, but they like to swing, and then watch the action from the park bench. Plus, the littler littles, they're working their way towards walking themselves, then it'll just be us Moms parked on the bench. If we even get that luxury!

What a doll.

Thanks to Linwood's sister Ruth for giving us this awesome dollhouse! I'm sure her granddaughter loved this when she was little, because both of my children love it. My little ones don't discriminate in their choice of toys. Zachary doesn't mind playing with the dollhouse, and Elara is happy to play with the workbench and the cars. They are both just thrilled to be playing!

My phone was missing yesterday, after Elara had been playing with it, and I searched everywhere. I finally gave up looking for it, until I could get someone to call it for me. It started ringing, and we finally found it. It was inside the turret of the castle. Thanks Elara.

Edible Outdoors

If elara can pick it up, chances are good it's going in her mouth. Bark mulch, flowers, dirt, grass... all fair game. Maybe I should start growing edible flowers...
