I am just loving on all these little ones! We had babies and toddlers and preschoolers everywhere we looked at Elara's party. I know that the grandparents were enjoying themselves (and the rest of us baby-crazy aunties were too!)

Treat E
Thank you Uncle Jon Jon and Auntie Christine for Elara's beautiful sunshine-y birthday cake! (and thanks to Grandma Ann for the Number 1 candle!) Elara was fairly interested in the cake and the candle, until she realized we would let her get away with sticking her finger in the frosting, then she was fascinated. She was not your typical dig-into-the-cake and smear-frosting-everywhere one year old. This delicate little lady wanted a utensil for her cake, then she proceeded to smear frosting everywhere. But first, ahem, manners! This is much removed from her brother, who even on his third birthday, when offered a fork for his cake declared, "um, I think, I'll just use, my mouth."
After she was done eating, we still had to give her a bath and change her clothes, but she was a happy birthday girl.

Sun E
For Elara's first birthday party, we had a Sunshine theme, with bright yellows and pinks for the pretty little birthday girl. This current group of little ones just keeps getting bigger, we already have two more first birthdays to go to in the next year (Dominic and Elias!) in addition to all the other birthdays we get to celebrate. We were lucky to have so many family members come out to help us celebrate E's very first birthday. The weather was nice, the company was great, the cake was delicious, and the birthday girl was oh-so-sweet! Happy Birthday Elara Lily!!
