Sparkly

Doesn't matter how young, or old you are. You'll find a way to light up a sparkler, and play with glow bracelets. It's the fourth of July! (Okay, it's September, and I'm just slow with the blog, but you know what I mean!)

Zachary was practicing his ninja moves with the glow bracelets, and all the adults were using them on their beer bottles as decorative drink markers!

Little Firecracker

I love the fourth of July. Everyone is wearing their favorite red white and blue outfit, and we can hang out, grill out, and be together all day long. Plus I get to relive my childhood love of sparklers!

Red, White, And Zoo

The petting zoo at the 4th of July festival was pretty amazing. I have never seen so many animals so willing to be touched. There were chickens, and geese, a baby cow, donkey, goats, pigs, you name it, they were probably there, and eager to be petted. It took Zachary no time at all to warm up to the idea of offering a handful of food to the animals. Elara was a little more reticent, but by the end she was happy to let the animals nibble out of her hand. Luckily Zachary was willing to share his cup of food--Elara's was dumped out on the grass very early on, which made for one very, very happy goat.

Ninjasaurus

We went to the fourth of July festival while we were on staycation in Iowa, and there was a lot of fun to be had. Sometimes I have to remind myself that Z is not a little toddler anymore, and fearlessly climbs up the ninjasaurus, and zooms down the giant slide with a huge grin on his face. He even convinced our cousin Ashley to join him on the giant slide. Wheeeee!
