Screening Session

This is what lazy, quiet days should be all about. Nonna was recovering from something that resembled the plague, and the kids were happy to keep her company on the couch, and enjoy a little screen time.

different games

Elara and Poppa were enjoying a little run run boom (football!) and Zachary and Nonna were busy playing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. I was busy taking pictures--no surprise there!

Tumbling Tower

The expressions on Zachary and Elara's faces are perfect in these pictures. The joy in building a tower isn't always about how high you go, sometimes it's in the fear that it might fall over, or the happiness in seeing it tumble down, and knowing you get to start all over again.

Port of Call

If the trip looks like it starts over again in the middle, that's because I have pictures from both my camera and Nonna's camera. We've lived in Mystic for almost three years now, and in all that time, we hadn't visited the Mystic Seaport. I think we were so busy enjoying the aquarium and Olde Mystick Village, that we just never made our way over. Turns out we were missing out a pretty fun time! They have great old ships for you to climb on, and a 19th century sea faring village for you to wander through. There is also a great little children's museum, which was the icing on the cake for us. Elara and Zachary took turns captaining a boat, and cooking in the kitchen. We loved it so much--we converted our tickets over to an annual membership. We've been back a couple times, and Elara has enjoyed it just as much as the first time!

around the corner

We do have a park in our neighborhood that is a little closer than the big park, but the "big" park is worth the hop in the car. They love the big red slide, and the balance beam, and they really love when Poppa, Nonna and Momma play with them at the park.
