We weren't really up for a huge New Year's Eve Celebration. We celebrated with an early countdown, and definitely an early bedtime. It was quiet and simple, but nice. For New Year's Day, however, we wanted to get out of the house, and show the kids (and grandma!) a good time. So we headed to the Mystic Seaport, and spent a few hours playing at the children's museum, and exploring some of the boats. Then we stopped over at Five Guys because Zachary wanted a cheeseburger, and Elara wanted french fries. It was a great way to start off 2015. :)

Use the Bammer!
Elara was very happy to help big daddy Paul with his long honey-do project list we made for during the EB shutdown. Including putting together our awesome new book/toy shelf. She pulled out her bammer, and handed daddy nails, and was actually a little bit helpful. Not sure where the balance of helpful/hindrance fell for the project overall. But I know Paul liked working with her, and I loooove the new bookshelf! Thanks for putting it together guys!

One more stop
I don't stop nearly often enough to consider just how lucky I am that I don't have in-laws. I just have a bigger family. And even better--they consider my family to be part of the family. So if Robert comes to Thanksgiving, or like this year, Grandma comes to Christmas, they are just part of the festivities. Uncle Bill and Auntie Karen hosted Christmas this year, and we filled up the house nicely. There was lots of food, people, noise, and plenty of Christmas spirit. Zachary ran around with his cousins, and played with the arcade game his daddy played with when he was little. Elara did a little running around with her cousins, but then she conked out for a nice nap--first on daddy, then on momma. Then she moved on to chowing down and then a little more running around. The holidays are always a little chaotic and crazy, but well worth the stress in the end.
