More Local Favorites

As you know, Auntie Lizzie is moving to Germany, and since she didn't know when her next visit to Iowa was going to be, we had to make sure we squeezed in as many of her local faves as we could. This was one of our last days of the Iowa trip, and we'd crossed of a lot of faves, but we had two more to squeeze in, Hungry Hobos, and Country Style. I wasn't a regular at Hungry Hobo, but it's one of Liz's favorites, and she happily gobbled down some cheesy taco/nacho (potato?) salad-y thing, and the kids ate little baby-bo sandwhiches in between swinging and sliding at the park. Country Style is an ice cream shop with my favorite soft-served ice cream. Vanilla cone dipped in chocolate is my go-to. On a really hot day, there are very few things that are messier than trying to eat the cone before the ice cream and chocolate shell drip all over everything. Well, there are two messier things: Elara and Zachary eating the ice cream cones! YUM!
