Party Clothes!

Zachary is far less enthused than Elara about putting on party clothes. For days ahead of time, I have to hide Elara's party dress. Otherwise she will beg to put it on, or stealth change into it herself as best she can. Zachary on the other hand begs to NOT wear his button down shirt, and khakis. He's okay with the nice shoes, but the rest of the outfit can stay firmly in the closet. At least I can still make him wear things. Thank you to Grandma Ann for picking out great party clothes for the kids to wear on Thanksgiving!

Hopefully you're putting on your best party clothes and enjoying a Happy New Year tonight!

Don't random sword fights break out at everyone's houses?

Elara saw a pictures of these in the HyVee seasons magazine, told Uncle Robert she wanted them, then they magically appeared on the buffet. like I said, lucky ducks.

while momma and daddy sleeeeep

I always leave my camera lying around the house, so I can easily grab it and snap pictures when the moment is right. That also means anyone else can grab my camera and start taking pictures. Especially easy to do when my sisters are awesome and watching my kids while Paulie and I sleep in. These are the gems that showed up on my camera on our last Iowa trip!

coming together

Even when the circumstances are less than ideal, it's still wonderful to spend time with my family. We may be scattered throughout the year, but when we get together it's like we were never apart. Miss you all!!

Tonight I will be....

A couple weeks ago, Zachary brought home a book his class at school had put together for Halloween. They had filled in the blanks on a sentence, and then they drew a picture. Today I am Zachary, but tonight I will be Luke Skywalker! Elara was an adorable little ewok, and we had Max from Where the Wild Things Are visit us. (Okay, it was Colin, but you have to look close to tell!) It was very wet and rainy, but Brenda hosted a great Halloween party, and we braved the rain long enough to get our fill of Halloween candy. Zachary was super excited to help pass out candy, and he did a great job of it.
