Poppa Rocks!

 

 

 

 

This rock wall really is one of the coolest things about our new yard. I really had no idea how rocky the terrain was in Connecticut..there are rocks everywhere! On a drive across our town, you'll probably see more rock walls than fences. Zachary is naturally fascinated by the rocks, he wants to climb them, and dig in the dirt around them. He even figured out if he throws his ball at them, the ball will bounce off in wacky directions. The next door neighbor has solar lights sprinkled in all the cracks and crevices of their rock wall (which is a continuation of our wall) and I think I'm going to have to do the same on our side.

No matter where they're playing, Z is happy to have Poppa to partner up with! Poppa was a good sport pushing Z on his bike. The bike doesn't steer very well, and Zachary lets his feet ride on the pedals, but he doesn't actually provide any forward momentum. He's going to be really surprised the first time he has to get himself around the block!

I'm so glad Zachary is still a cuddler. I love nothing more than waking up in the morning, and inviting him to come snuggle in momma's bed, and watch some cartoons. It's not something we do everyday, but I'm not exactly getting the best night's sleep with this belly, and sometimes it's nice to have a few extra minutes in bed. We'll open up the curtains, and let the sunshine come in and warm up the room. He'll watch Mickey Mouse, or Cat in the Hat, and we both start the day off in better moods. Daddy still gets cuddle time too, especially in the evening when Z is starting to get sleepy, he's happy to curl up with daddy on the couch.

I had so much fun celebrating with the beautiful bride-to-be Christine at her bridal shower! I have to give all the kudos to the Mommas and the other bridesmaids for pulling off this party extraordinaire. I was happy to be a sounding board for all of their awesome ideas, and help where I could. (But planning a party in the midst of our move from Maryland to Connecticut was a bit out of my reach!) 

Everyone looked gorgeous, and between the great food, cupcakes, and candy bar, this pregnant lady was very happy! 

 Thanks ladies for making me look like an awesome bridesmaid! Really, the party went off without a hitch (the hitch is coming May 4th!) Very punny, I know.

Can't wait for the big day at Belle Mer!

Arts and Crafts are becoming a big deal around here. Z loves to color with crayons. He also loves to eat crayons, which is another story entirely. He will happily paint or play with play-doh for as long as I will let him. Which is usually about as long as I can stand to keep stopping him from eating the supplies!

I also have to point out the Be Mine Lion keeping Z company while he decorated this birthday card. We were running errands, and came across some Valentine's Day leftovers in this clearance section, and Z fell in love with the singing Lion. I fell in love with the clearance price tag, and the fully entertained Zachary. The hardest part of the whole lion experience was trying to convince him to let the store clerk ring up the sale. Full on tears streaming down his face, he was SO sad to let go of the lion even for two seconds!

We LOVE our backyard. Zachary, my happy little walking companion, isn't so happy to go for walks with me any more. Boo. He'd much prefer to just run around and play in the yard. We have a couple soccer balls, some bubbles, and of course, there is plenty of dirt and grass and rocks. What more could a boy ask for? Now I have to invite Z's toys along for the walk if I want to get him to come with...but it doesn't always work! Hopefully he'll come back around eventually, I miss my walking buddy!

Style looks good at any age.

How cool is Jayden's Momma? She invited Elmo to his 2nd birthday party. AND HE CAME!! How awesome is that? Zachary wasn't quite as thrilled with Elmo as I thought he would be. He was a little bit, well, terrified. He finally warmed up enough at the end for a high five, but he wasn't letting Elmo get too close. Okay Kristen, how are you going to top this one next year?
