Poppa and the Smurfs

Love you Poppa! Thank you for coming to Connecticut and helping us out so much--and for helping convince Nonna to stay for an extra week! We miss you and hope you can come for another (somewhat less crazy) visit again soon!!

he was so tiny!!

Last Day of Kindergarten

I missed Zachary's last day of kindergarten--I was still in the hospital. :( But thankfully Nonna and Poppa were there to get him on the bus, and take pictures for me. I can't believe I'm so far behind on this blog that summer vacation is over and I just took pictures of Z holding his first day of first grade sign!

he's home!

After a few days in the hospital, we were so happy to be home! Elara and Zachary were thrilled to be able to hold and love on their new baby brother as much as they wanted, and I was happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed!

Dr. Elara

Our pediatrician came to see Barrett in the hospital, and let Elara help out with the examination. Elara was also given clear instructions that she had to continue giving Barrett checkups at home. She did a great job!

You can also see the stuffed bear that Zachary and Elara picked out for Barrett. When Elara was a newborn, Poppa and Nonna let Zachary pick out a stuffed animal for his new little sister, and for himself. He picked out his beloved Cobbler, and a cow for E. Zachary wanted very much for this to happen again with Barrett. But this time Poppa had to buy three stuffed animals! Elara chose a hello kitty dressed up as an Uglydoll, Zachary got a cute little puppy he named Johnny, and Barrett got a bear, naturally.

fresh baby

There's nothing like a fresh newborn baby to get your friends and family to come for a visit. Barrett was welcomed by many open arms, more than willing to hold and cuddle and love on him. Elara called Grandma Laine, and said, "You have to come see us now Grandma Laine, Barrett is out of Momma's belly!" and the first time Zachary held him, he whispered softly, "I never want to stop holding him." I agree completely.
