Sharing a Moment

Some moments are so special, that I feel lucky to have been able to capture them on film. This was definitely one of them. We had been wandering around Universal Studios, exploring without the company of Elizabeth, Paul, Ben or Robert. They were all off riding roller coasters, and those of us who were too short, too pregnant, too old, etc, we're left to wander through the park. Zachary was particularly fascinated by the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park area. He wanted to get a closer look, and grabbed hold of Grandpa's hand to move in. While they were telling the dinosaur to, "Stay Away!" Zachary turned to Grandpa and demanded, "Pick me up Grandpa!" I try to impress upon him the importance of pleases and thank-yous, but when there are scary dinosaurs, and compliant grandparents, you can hardly blame him.

Paging Dr. Seuss

This is the kind of ride where even waiting in line is fun! And then after all the fun waiting, you get to ride a Snorgwaddle with Mame and Big Daddy Paul.

What? Think you can come up with a better Dr. Seussy name? Go for it!

Characterization

I keep getting the name of this restaurant mixed up with Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Maybe my family will leave a comment to fill in the blanks, because my pregnancy brain just can't come up with it right now. Maybe by the time I've finished writing about how much fun we had it will come to me. It's actually a buffet like Boma, but with the fun addition of lots of Disney Characters stopping by for a chat. It was an African buffet, and Z really seemed to enjoy the chicken, and the plantains. But even more enjoyable to him , was the visit with Donald, Pluto, Goofy and Mickey. Zachary however was very concerned when Mickey came over, and asked him where Minnie Mouse was. Mickey pantomimed that she was having her nails done, and that seemed to placate Z!

Birds of a Feather

Z and I could both happily spend the entire week long vacation at the Animal Kingdom. Sure, I like to sprinkle in some visits to Epcot, and Z would miss the Nemo ride, but the animals. The ANIMALS.

Everybody Switch!

If you can tear yourself away from the parks long enough to do some exploring, at your hotel, Pop Century in Disney has a lot of cool sculptures and even a giant keyboard. Zachary had a blast running around with the family playing chase and didn't even realize we were teaching him letters at the same time.
