boxtops

Nonna is brilliant. Clearly she had 5 children of her own. Overnight, the paper box Zachary had been eyeing for awhile was transformed into a toy. Nonna cut a hole sized just right for Z's new animals to slide into. And Poppa put the hole in the side for easy retrieval!

misfits

Not that we really need an excuse to go to Duclaw, but Poppa's Birthday makes for a great reason! Happy Birthday Poppa, thanks for letting us help you celebrate! Same time next year?? Yes, please!

more airplanes!!

Standing in front of the Enola Gay.

Poppa-ing a wheelie!

Pointing at the airplane flying overhead. Z really seemed to enjoy himself!

Airplanes!

Nonna and Poppa and Daddy and I all went with Zachary to see the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia. Zachary was happy to ride around in his stroller for the first part of our visit, even snoozing for a little while. Then he needed some air and space to run. He would run around, pointing up at the ceiling yelling, "Airplaaaaay...Fly!" When we went up to the observation tower, you could watch planes taking off from Dulles. Zachary would point to the plane the whole time it was in view, and as it disappeared, he said, "Buh-bye airplaaay!"

all things elmo

9:30-10:30 is my hour of peace each morning. I can count on Sesame Street to keep Z entertained long enough for me to take care of dishes, have breakfast or write up a quick blog post. After a morning of building block towers, and making animal noises, it's nice to have a little hands-off time. He insists on running over to me and informing me as soon as the Elmo's World portion of the show starts. A couple days ago, I ran upstairs to change into clothes, so that we could go to the park, and I hear Z say, "Oh, Elmo...hahaha." So, anything Elmo makes Z a happy little guy. A big thanks to the Easter Bunny..(read: Z's Great Grandma!) for the Elmo hat!

reading tent

Our townhouse isn't big enough to have a reading room--but the reading tent is a great addition.

poppa tent

This was really cute. Poppa would pretend to be asleep in the tent, and Z would lay down next to him and pretend to sleep too. Then they would "wake up" and run around, then lay down and "sleep" again!

big, scary monster

Z and Poppa spent most of their free time running around the house, and chasing each other in and out of the tent. It was endless entertainment for us all..
