Another Notch in the Belt Test

If there was a test for being polite, Z would pass with flying colors.

A few weeks ago, Zachary was testing for his yellow striped belt in Karate. The students have to follow the directions from Sensei Ralph, and answer a few questions in front of the class. Each student was called up to the front in rapid succession; answering a question, and performing a karate move. When it was Z's turn, he was quietly conferring with Sensei Ralph for a loooong time. Then, with no small amount of reluctance, he faced the class and did his punches. After the class was done with testing, Z's teacher announced that he was very impressed with the class. It's hard to stand up in front of your peers, and every single student was able to do it. He did however call Zachary out, because Z really didn't want to  perform his punches. The long conversation they had was Zachary telling Sensei Ralph, "No thank you. My momma says if I say, 'no thank you,' then I don't have to do it." Luckily, Sensei Ralph is excellent at convincing my little guy to do his karate moves, and Z passed his belt test!
