Seasonally (In)Appropriate

While in the midst of putting up our Christmas tree, and pulling out the winter holiday decorations, I had to break the news to Zachary that it was time to part with his beloved pumpkin. This was the pumpkin we had gotten on his field trip to Whittles Farm. He and his fifth grade buddy decorated it, and he had even signed his name to it. It has been gracing our dining room table as a centerpiece ever since. Well, considering it was mid-December and Zachary was sporting reindeer antlers, it was time for the pumpkin masterpiece to go. As usual, Zachary insisted that we take pictures of both him and the pumpkin before we pitch it. If I wasn't worried about rotting, it would probably be a permanent fixture. Although, at the rate these guys bring home art projects, my dining room table would become an art gallery, and we'd have to eat at the kid's picnic table.
