The first time we met up with Case in Maryland we were celebrating the
purchase of our new townhouse, and everything in Maryland felt all
bright and shiny and new. We were newly graduated from college, with great jobs,
a big house all to ourselves, and Case was earning his badge at the Tomb. Case and Elizabeth helped us move Paul
out of his apartment, and into our new place. Here we are 7 years later,
Case is married to the beautiful Hillary, and currently deployed to
Afghanistan. Paul and I are married, with a 2 year old, and a baby on
the way, and a brand new bright and shiny future ahead of us in
Connecticut. It felt like coming full circle back to the beginning...we
even ate at Duclaw again. Except the townhouse wasn't feeling so big, or shiny, and we'd added some great new characters to the scene!
Oh, DuClaw...We are going to miss your yummy food, great atmosphere, and most of all, your beer. You're a tough act to follow, if it's even possible at all. But you have inspired us, and though we will surely fall far short of your quality, we started brewing a batch of beer on our own. More updates on that to come later!
Oh, and note to self, don't take pictures of Z eating the crayon box, even if you think it's cute. Just put the camera down, and extricate the box. This is certainly for the best.
