good morning, sunshine

Zachary wakes up every morning between 5:30 and 6:30, and after a quick diaper change, we hurry downstairs for a sippy cup of milk and some cuddle time. We watch a little PBS, build a tower or two, and before long, Z is saying, "eee, eee, wahfah!" Mom, don't you instinctively know that I have now decided I am ready to eat breakfast? I will have waffles and sausages. He'd probably order fresh squeezed OJ, if we had already introduced juice! He's pretty happy with himself, now that he has us wrapped around his pudgy little finger. He tells us when he's hungry, and food appears. He even convinced us that he's a big boy, and should sit at the table with us, letting us retire his high chair. I did manage to negotiate the intermediate use of a booster, but Z's a tough sell.
