Strawberry Festival

We had to send Big Daddy Paul back to Connecticut to keep working on his homework, so Grandma Ann and I hatched up a plan to keep the kids entertained for the day. We thought a trip to the Strawberry Festival in Rehoboth fit the bill. It was an adorable little trip, although I think it was a stretch to call it both "festival" and "strawberry." It was more like a very small country fair. They did have strawberry shortcake, but that was pretty much the extent of the strawberries participation, and we ate it, because we were hungry, but it wasn't anything to blog about really. There was some live music, and a couple cute little hands on projects for the kids to do. They helped with churning butter by hand, and made some moth repelling sachets for their closets. They also got to visit a couple baby goats that were less than 36 hours old--so cute! As far as free festivals to keep the kids busy for an hour, I'd say this one was a success.
